The summer 2020 was the next drought in Moldova. Besides all crisis that are here, farmwers were asking for money from the state for up 80% losses in agriculture.
How did you respond to this event? And the people around you?
We invested in rainwater-saving systems. Others were trying to dig deeper to find water.
Can you describe your emotions and feelings during the event and after it?
It's becoming tough and I feel people are not aware and mentally prepared to change habits. If we all just keep on digging deeper (this taken as a metaphor) it's just going to be more and more difficult for everybody.
Who was the person (or people) and/or the institution, group or community that you feel more "helpful" and close to you during the event?
Our government just allowed farmers to use basically all water ressources they could find. I don't trust state institutions in Moldova unfourtunately. Our EcoVisio community is a good place to share emotions and thoughts.
What happened in the aftermath in the area affected? There were economic, political and social changes?
We are in an election year, no changes yet. What key principles did you learn regarding your own climate adaptation experience? It feels good and the right thing to do to adapt. Using warm water from solar pannels gives you joy, using your self collected rain water feels different either. We should follow the path which feels right and good.
